Project Setup

KPI Category Weights (%)

Adjust how much each category counts toward the Overall Project Health Score. Weights are normalized automatically, so they don't need to sum to exactly 100.

Period Data (enter cumulative values)

Enter the raw figures for each category, period by period — everything else (EV, SPI, CPI and the Health Score) is calculated automatically. Cost/Schedule: PV, AC · Progress: % Complete · Quality: NCRs raised/closed · Safety: manhours, recordable incidents, near misses · Risk: total open risks, high/critical open risks · Resource: planned vs actual resource-hours.

Charts

The radar shows how the seven categories compare in the current period. The health index trend shows whether the project is improving or deteriorating overall. The rest break each category down individually.

Method & practical use

Understand the result.

Free project health dashboard. Track cost, schedule, quality, safety and risk KPIs with a weighted RAG health score, charts and a status report.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter the project details and reporting date; replace any sample records.
  2. Add or import your records, then review the summaries and outstanding actions.
  3. Save the project and use the available export or print controls to share the current report.

Units & method

Use the dates, quantities and currency shown in the workspace. Keep one currency and a consistent reporting cut-off.

Combine the configured KPI categories and weights into a project-health view. Review the underlying schedule, cost and delivery evidence.

Method: the owner’s supplied worksheet and the arithmetic described above.

Worked examples

Illustrative inputs for checking the method; these are not project records.

Worked scenario

Example: with two equally weighted KPI scores of 80 and 60, the combined score is 70. Changing the weights changes the interpretation.

How to use the Project Health Dashboard

Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. If you are new to the tool, follow these steps in order.

1

See what the tool can do

Press Load Sample Data to fill the dashboard with a sample project and its reporting periods. Then scroll down the page:

  • Project Setup — project, client, currency, budget, start date and period unit.
  • KPI Category Weights (%) — how much cost, schedule, progress, quality, safety, risk and resources count towards the overall health score.
  • Overall Project Health and KPI Summary — the health score and each KPI for the latest period.
  • Period Data — one row per period with cumulative values for cost, progress, NCRs, safety, risks and resources.
  • Charts — trends over the periods.

The first time you open the tool (when there is no data of yours in this browser) the sample is loaded for you, so you can see how it works straight away. Replace it with your own entries, press + New Project / Clear All to start empty, or load your saved project.

Load Sample Data replaces the data in the tool. Save your own work first.

2

See how the data file looks

Press ⇩ Export Table (.csv). It downloads the periods as a CSV file that opens in Excel. The project name and details are on the first lines, then a heading row starting with Period:

ColumnWhat to enterExample
PeriodPeriod nameMonth 4
PV (cum), AC (cum), % CompleteCumulative planned value, actual cost and % complete540000
NCR Raised, NCR ClosedCumulative counts12
Manhours, Incidents, Near MissCumulative safety figures45000
Risks Open, High/Crit OpenCurrent risk counts8
Res Planned, Res ActualResources planned and actual40
EV (cum), SPI, CPI, Health ScoreWorked out by the tool; ignored on import—
3

Enter your own data and import it

Keep the heading row starting with Period and put your values underneath. Save it in Excel as CSV (Comma delimited). Then press ⇧ Import Table (.csv) and choose the file.

  • Enter cumulative values where the heading says (cum).
  • The calculated columns are ignored and worked out again.
  • Import replaces all periods. A file exported from this tool also brings back the project details.
4

Add, edit and delete rows

You can also work straight in the table on the page at any time, with or without a CSV:

  • + Add Period adds the next period. Type its values into the cells.
  • The ✕ at the end of a row deletes that period straight away. There is no undo, so save your project first.
5

Save your project and open it later

💾 Save Project (.json) saves the project setup, weights and all periods in one .json project file. 📂 Load Project opens that file again, on any computer.

The note beside the Save button tells you whether you have unsaved changes or when you last saved. If you try to close or leave the page with unsaved changes, the browser asks you to confirm first (not needed when Autosave is ticked, because your work is kept in this browser).

Use the project file for backups and for sharing with colleagues. Don't edit it by hand.

6

Print, PDF and report

  • 🖨 Print / Save as PDF prints the page as you see it, in print-friendly colours. To get a PDF, choose Save as PDF as the printer in the print dialog.
  • 📝 Generate Health Report (PDF) opens a formatted project health report in a new tab, ready to print or save as PDF. If nothing opens, allow pop-ups for this site.
7

Other buttons and options

  • Autosave in this browser (tick box) — while ticked, your work is kept automatically in this browser and comes back the next time you open the page. It stays only on this computer and browser. It is not a backup; use Save Project for that.
  • 👁 View Current Data shows all entered data in a window.
  • + New Project clears everything and starts a new project (it asks first).
8

Choose the date format

Press 📅 Date format in the toolbar and choose how dates are shown and typed in every date box: DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, DD-MM-YYYY, DD.MM.YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY. Type a date in that format, or click the 📅 in a date box to pick it from a calendar. A date that doesn't fit the format is outlined in red and not accepted.

The same format is used in the printout and in the generated report and its PDF. It changes only how dates look — your saved project and CSV files are not affected. Your choice is remembered in this browser for every tool on this site.
