About this permit & NOC tracker tool

This tool builds a project permit and NOC tracker directly in the browser, for project managers, document controllers and compliance officers who need a clear register of every statutory approval a project depends on.

Logging permits and NOCs by authority and responsible party

Each entry records the permit or NOC name, its type, the issuing authority, and the party responsible for obtaining it — contractor, consultant, client or authority. Application date, approval status and expiry date are tracked alongside it, so it is always clear who owns each approval and where it stands.

Flagging expiring and expired approvals

Once a permit or NOC is marked approved, its expiry date is checked automatically. Anything expiring within the next 30 days is flagged expiring soon, and anything past its expiry date with no renewal recorded is flagged expired, so a lapsed approval never goes unnoticed on site.

Tracking outstanding requirements to closure

Conditions or documents an authority still requires before granting or renewing an approval can be logged as outstanding requirements with a responsible person and a target date. Once a completion date is recorded the requirement is marked closed; if the target date passes with no completion it is automatically flagged overdue.

What the summary reports

  • Total permits and NOCs logged
  • Approved and currently valid
  • Pending or under review
  • Expiring within 30 days
  • Expired
  • Rejected
  • Open outstanding requirements
  • Overall compliance rate

Getting data in and out

The tracker saves as a project file to reopen later, exports to CSV for further analysis or a compliance report, prints directly as a PDF, and can generate a full detail report with every entry written out in full. For tracking safety compliance rather than statutory approvals, see the Safety / HSE dashboard, or for formal submissions between parties, the document transmittal register.

Frequently asked questions

What is a permit and NOC tracker?

It is a register of every permit, approval and No Objection Certificate (NOC) required on a project, recording the issuing authority, the party responsible for obtaining it, its application and approval status, and its expiry date if it is time-limited.

How is an expiring or expired permit identified?

Once a permit is marked approved, its expiry date is compared against today's date. If the expiry date has passed it is flagged expired; if it falls within the next 30 days it is flagged expiring soon, so renewals are not left until the last moment.

What are outstanding requirements in this tracker?

Outstanding requirements are the specific documents, inspections or conditions an authority still needs before a permit or NOC can be approved or renewed. Each is tracked with a responsible person and a target date, and is automatically flagged overdue if that date passes without closure.

Who is typically responsible for obtaining a permit or NOC?

Responsibility varies by permit type and contract: the contractor commonly obtains site-level permits, the consultant may prepare technical submissions, and the client typically holds ultimate responsibility for statutory approvals tied to land ownership or occupancy.

Can the permit and NOC tracker be exported for a compliance report?

Yes. The tracker can be exported to CSV, saved as a project file to reopen later, printed directly to PDF, or turned into a full detail report listing every permit, NOC and outstanding requirement for a compliance audit or handover file.
