About this daily progress report tool
This tool builds a construction daily progress report directly in the browser, for site engineers, document controllers and project managers who need a single, complete record of manpower, equipment, activities, quantities, weather, issues and instructions for every day on site.
Recording manpower and equipment
Log each trade with its planned headcount, today's actual and a running cumulative total, so shortfalls against plan are visible at a glance. Equipment is logged the same way, split between working and idle or standby, to flag underused plant early.
Tracking activities, quantities and weather
Each activity records the location or zone, the unit of measure, the quantity planned and achieved today, the cumulative quantity to date, and an overall percent complete. Weather is logged for both AM and PM along with any hours lost, since it is one of the most common grounds used to substantiate an extension of time claim later.
Issues, delays and site instructions
Any issue or delay is logged with its category, who raised it, its impact and current status, so nothing that affected the day's progress is left out of the record. Site instructions issued verbally or in writing are logged with who issued them and who they were issued to, closing the loop between what was instructed and what was done.
Getting data in and out
The report saves as a project file to reopen the next day, exports to CSV for further analysis or a handover file, prints directly as a PDF, and can generate a full detail report with every section written out in full for a client submission or close-out file. What is a construction daily progress report?
A daily progress report (DPR) is a site record of everything that happened on a project on a given day: manpower on site, equipment deployed, activities carried out and quantities achieved, the weather, any issues or delays, and instructions issued to the site team. It is the primary evidence used to support programme, claims and close-out records.
What should a daily progress report include?
At minimum it should include the report date and number, manpower by trade, equipment on site and its working status, the activities carried out with quantities achieved against plan, the day's weather, any issues or delays encountered, and any instructions issued on site that day.
Why record weather in a daily progress report?
Weather is one of the most common grounds for an extension of time claim. Recording conditions and any hours lost each day builds a contemporaneous record that can be used to substantiate delay claims later, rather than relying on memory months after the event.
How is manpower tracked against the plan?
Each trade or category is logged with the planned headcount, the actual headcount deployed that day, and a running cumulative total. Comparing actual to planned manpower day over day highlights resourcing shortfalls before they affect the programme.
Can the daily progress report be exported for a handover file?
