About this Safety / HSE dashboard tool

This tool builds a project HSE dashboard directly in the browser, for HSE officers, site managers and project managers who need a single place to log every safety event on a project and follow up on it until it is closed.

Logging incidents, near misses and daily safety activity

Each entry records the category โ€” incident, near miss, lost-time injury, inspection, observation or toolbox talk โ€” along with location, description, severity, the person involved and who reported it. Lost-time injuries carry a days-lost figure that feeds directly into the frequency-rate calculation.

Automatic LTIFR calculation

Enter total man-hours worked on the project and the dashboard calculates the Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate automatically โ€” lost-time injuries divided by man-hours, multiplied by 1,000,000 โ€” updating every time a new LTI or man-hours figure is logged.

Tracking corrective actions to closure

Findings from incidents, near misses, inspections and observations can be raised as corrective actions with a responsible person and a target closure date. Once a completion date is recorded the action is marked closed; if the target date passes with no completion it is automatically flagged overdue, so nothing raised during an audit or investigation gets forgotten.

What the summary reports

  • Total HSE events logged
  • Incidents and near misses
  • Lost-time injuries and LTIFR
  • Inspections and toolbox talks conducted
  • Open corrective actions

Getting data in and out

The dashboard saves as a project file to reopen later, exports to CSV for further analysis or a monthly HSE report, prints directly as a PDF, and can generate a full detail report with every description and remark written out in full. For tracking technical queries and formal submissions rather than safety events, see the RFI / technical query tracker or the risk register.

Frequently asked questions

What does a Safety / HSE dashboard track?

It tracks all the site safety events on a project in one place: incidents, near misses, lost-time injuries, inspections, safety observations and toolbox talks, together with a corrective action register that follows up on findings until they are closed.

How is LTIFR calculated?

Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate is the number of lost-time injuries divided by total man-hours worked, multiplied by 1,000,000. It is recalculated automatically as lost-time injuries and man-hours are logged.

How is an overdue corrective action identified?

Each corrective action carries a target closure date. If that date has passed with no completion date recorded, the action is automatically flagged overdue so it is not lost among items still open.

What is the difference between an incident and a near miss?

An incident is an event that resulted in injury, damage or loss. A near miss is an event that had the potential to cause harm but did not, on that occasion, result in injury or damage. Both are logged so patterns can be identified before an incident occurs.

Can the HSE dashboard be exported for a monthly safety report?

Yes. The register can be exported to CSV, saved as a project file to reopen later, printed directly to PDF, or turned into a full detail report listing every event and corrective action with its complete description for a monthly HSE report or audit file.
