Method: the owner’s supplied worksheet and the arithmetic described above.

Worked examples

Illustrative inputs for checking the method; these are not project records.

Worked scenario

Example: log a 14-day request with its notice date and supporting reference; record an assessed award of 7 days separately from the claim.

How to use the Claims & EOT Register

Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. If you are new to the tool, follow these steps in order.

1

See what the tool can do

Press Load Sample Data to fill the register with sample claims, extensions of time and notices. Then scroll down the page:

  • Summary — totals claimed and evaluated, EOT days requested and granted, and counts by status.
  • Claims, EOT & Notices Register — one row per item. Use the Type, Status and Party filters above the table to narrow the list, and ✕ Clear Filters to show everything again.

Load Sample Data replaces the data in the tool. Save your own work first.

2

Add and edit items

+ Add Item opens a form for a new claim, EOT, notice or variation: reference, type and sub-type, party, description, dates, amounts, EOT days, status, contract clause and notes. Click a row in the register to edit it.

3

See how the data file looks

Press ⬇ Export Table (.csv). It downloads the rows currently shown (after filters) as a CSV file that opens in Excel, with these columns:

Enter your own data and import it

Add your own rows under the heading row and save it in excel as csv (comma delimited). Then press ⬆ Import CSV and choose the file.

  • Columns are matched by their heading names, so keep the headings (their order does not matter).
  • Enter dates as YYYY-MM-DD.
  • Import adds the rows to the register — existing items are kept. Use + New Project first if you want to start from an empty register.

Excel often changes dates to your local format when it opens a CSV. Before saving, set the date columns to the custom format yyyy-mm-dd, or those dates may be left blank on import.

5

Attach the scanned claim / notice

Each row of the Claims, EOT & Notices Register has a Scan column for one scanned copy or photo — for example the notice letter, the claim submission or the Engineer’s determination. It can be a PDF (all its pages) or an image (JPG, PNG):

  • 📎 (faint) — nothing attached yet. Click it and choose the file.
  • 📄 (highlighted) — a file is attached. Click it to see it in a pop-up, where you can Replace, Remove or Download it.
  • Large photos and scanned images are reduced automatically to keep the project file small; a PDF must be under 5 MB.
  • The file is kept in the project file when you save the project, and comes back when you load it. It is not uploaded anywhere.

Autosave in this browser keeps the details but not the attached files (the browser has too little room). Save the project to keep them.

6

Save your project and open it later

💾 Save Project (.json) saves the project information and every register item in one .json project file. 📂 Load Project opens that file again, on any computer.

The note beside the Save button tells you whether you have unsaved changes or when you last saved. If you try to close or leave the page with unsaved changes, the browser asks you to confirm first (not needed when Autosave is ticked, because your work is kept in this browser).

Use the project file for backups and for sharing with colleagues. Don't edit it by hand.

7

Print, PDF and report

  • 🖨 Print / Save as PDF prints the page as you see it, in print-friendly colours. To get a PDF, choose Save as PDF as the printer in the print dialog.
  • 📄 Generate Status Report (PDF) opens a formatted claims and EOT status report in a new tab, where you can print it or save it with ⬇ Download HTML. If nothing opens, allow pop-ups for this site.
8

Other buttons and options

  • Autosave in this browser (tick box) — while ticked, your work is kept automatically in this browser and comes back the next time you open the page. It stays only on this computer and browser. It is not a backup; use Save Project for that.
  • 👁 View Current Data shows all register items as a table in a window, where ⎘ Copy as CSV copies it for Excel.
  • + New Project clears all data and starts a new project (it asks first).
9

Choose the date format

Press 📅 Date format in the toolbar and choose how dates are shown and typed in every date box: DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, DD-MM-YYYY, DD.MM.YYYY or DD-Mon-YYYY. Type a date in that format, or click the 📅 in a date box to pick it from a calendar. A date that doesn't fit the format is outlined in red and not accepted.

The same format is used in the printout and in the generated report and its PDF. It changes only how dates look — your saved project and CSV files are not affected. Your choice is remembered in this browser for every tool on this site.
