Multiple Box Culvert Quantities Calculator

Review and total quantities and costs for a road-project culvert schedule.

Sample Road

Browse every culvert on one at a time — barrel, wing wall, apron slab, toe wall, loose riprap and mortared riprap quantities — priced against editable unit rates, plus a live project-wide total.

Method & practical use

Understand the result.

Review and total quantities and costs for a road-project culvert schedule.

How to use this tool

  1. Select the geometry or design case and confirm the displayed units.
  2. Replace sample inputs with the project values, then calculate or review the live result.
  3. Check the method, assumptions and output; save or print the calculation with its input record.

Units & method

Dimensions m; volumes m³; steel t; unit rates in the selected currency.

Sum the geometric takeoffs for the loaded culverts, apply the matching unit rates and add contingency. The supplied project data is sample data. Verify each structure and specification; this tool does not design reinforcement or check hydraulic performance.

Method: the owner’s supplied worksheet and the arithmetic described above.

Worked examples

Illustrative inputs for checking the method; these are not project records.

Priced schedule, quantity factor 1

For nine sample quantity rows [10, 2, 3, 4, 5, 0.5, 6, 7, 8], each priced at 100 currency units per matching unit, the subtotal is 4,550.00. Adding 5% contingency gives 4,777.50. This checks pricing, not the source schedule geometry.

Priced schedule, quantity factor 2

For nine sample quantity rows [20, 4, 6, 8, 10, 1.0, 12, 14, 16], each priced at 100 currency units per matching unit, the subtotal is 9,100.00. Adding 5% contingency gives 9,555.00. This checks pricing, not the source schedule geometry.

Use the save, export and print controls shown in this workspace. Where CSV export is available, the exported data can be opened in a spreadsheet. Browser print can save a PDF.

How to use the All Box Culverts on a Road Project — Quantities Calculator

Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. If you are new to the tool, follow these steps in order.

1

Enter your inputs and read the results

The tool already holds every culvert on the project. Work down the page:

  • Project name and Unit Rates — rates for excavation, concrete, lean concrete, steel, riprap and filter, the contingency, decimal places and currency. Every total updates when you change a rate.
  • Culvert Browser — step through the culverts with ← and →, or type a culvert number and press Go. Each culvert shows its geometry, quantities and cost; Show detailed breakdown lists how each quantity is built up.
  • Project Totals — quantities and cost for all culverts together.
2

Export the quantities

  • Copy this culvert as CSV copies the culvert on screen for pasting into Excel.
  • Download full BOQ (CSV) downloads the bill of quantities for every culvert as one CSV file.
